Brewer's Jam, Barley's, and a busy summer:

Indeed, it has been a long summer. Many shows were played, many new friends made, and hopefully we wrote a few good songs here and there. But for the moment, we can only focus on one event: Brewer's Jam! This Saturday, we'll be at the World's Fair Park playing music while you drink the best drink in town. The event has sold out! We want to thank 90.3 and all the sponsors of Brewer's Jam for having us out. Our set goes from 1-2pm, so get there on time!

After that, we have yet another big night: our friends, The Tillers, are coming back from Cincy to play Knoxville again. You may have seen them very awesome Tiller boys on the Today show recently, and on TBS with Tom Brokaw. So come see them while you still can afford tickets, lol! We'll be at Barleys on October 28, and show starts around 930pm. This will be our last show in Knoxville for 2009, as it stands, so be sure to come see us off!

Centralia Massacre to open Brewer's Jam!

We're excited to announce that Knoxville's own Centralia Massacre will be opening things up at the 2009 Brewer's Jam! Knoxville's Brewer's Jam is an annual festival celebrating all things brew, and is celebrating its 13th year. Also performing will be Bobby Bare Jr's Young Criminals Starvation League, Cutthroat Shamrock, and Brendan James Wright and the Wrongs! visit www.knoxvillebrewersjam.com for more details!

Centralia Massacre is proud to announce that we have a new member! Leslie Terry has now joined Centralia Massacre on violin and vocals! Leslie has been sitting in on some of our local sets lately (such as our previous show at Barley's). Leslie is a phenomenal musician, and we're really looking forward to working with her on the upcoming album.

As you may have noticed, Centralia Massacre took a little break to work on the album, write new songs, and break in new gear. After trying material out at two private shows in New Orleans last week (yes, that New Orleans), we'll be back in the saddle on May 1 at Oodle's on Market Square as a four piece (Laura, James, John, and Leslie). Show is free, and it's First Friday! Come hang out with us! Music starts around 9:30pm.

Centralia Massacre is proud to announce that we have joined the Chestnut Tree Records family! Chestnut Tree Records, based out of Bloomington, Indiana, is home to performers such as Nathaniel Seer, Davy Sparrow, The Tillers, and more.

Visit www.chestnuttreerecords.com and check out our labelmates when you have a chance! And if you don't already have a copy of our cd, you can order and download it online while you are there. How cool is that? Also, we've updated the calender (to your right) with several of our tour dates for the summer. More dates are on the way, so keep checking back.

I love telling good news:

1.Visit Knoxville.com to see two videos of us playing on WDVX's Blue Plate Special! And if you are visiting our website link from Knoxville.com, don't forget to check out our myspace page at myspace.com/banjorocker .

2. Thanks to everyone who came out to our Sassy Ann's show! You can find a video from it by visiting here!

3. Centralia Massacre has officially returned to the studio to record their next album. After this Friday's show in Lexington at the very awesome venue CPR, we're taking a couple weeks off to record. But be sure to catch us at Barley's on February 16, because we're sure to have some new tricks to show you. And the banjo player promises to stop doing that detachable thumb trick. Seriously, he's moving to card tricks and hiding things in his beard.

4. We've got a huge announcement to make in February about a major milestone in the band's life. To be the first to hear about it, join our mailing list!

As our one year anniversary comes and goes, we just want to thank our friends and fans for being a part of this band over the last year.

You'll be happy to know, we'll be starting the new year off with a bang, playing our first headliner show at the legendary Sassy Ann's right here in Knoxville. We'll also be doing a rare all-ages "folk-punk" show in 4th and Gill on 1/19/09! We'll also be back to Morristown (which has bi-level sidewalks, in case you didn't know) at the Downtown to warm up the stage for our new (very talented) friends, Smiley and the Love Dawg. Look for a big ol' jam session to occur involving both bands!

Good Folk Fest was awesome! We had a great time seeing old friends in Lexington on the way up, and making some new ones in Louisville. We saw some great bands play, and we even hung out with Daniel Johnston for a little while. I'd describe it as a weekend to remember. We'll be playing at Barley's on December 1, call it the Centralia Massacre Winter Holiday Party, or thereabouts. But seriously, let's all hang out and celebrate being alive.

We just wanted to say thanks to all our fans for supporting us over the last year. The show at Preservation Pub and WDVX was an absolute blast!

We're also happy to announce that we'll be back in Lexington this month on our way to Louisville! Thanks again to the folks at CPR for having us over on the 20th.

The website is growing every day, and we're currently creating bios on all the members so you can learn tons and tons of useful/useless trivia about us. And we'll be sure to let you know what kind of music we're listening to in the band van!
